APPROACH

The process followed a structured, iterative approach, combining research, experimentation and validation to shape the final solution.

01

Empathize

Conducted user interviews with older people and families to identify needs, motivations and barriers, supported by competitor and SWOT analysis to frame the market context.

02

Define

Refined the target and expanded user roles (e.g. caregivers), translating insights into a clear problem definition.

03

Ideate

Experimented with different service solutions through user journeys and information architecture, defining possible interaction models and experience flows.

04

Prototype

Finalized the information architecture and user journeys, then translated them into wireframes and high-fidelity mockups.

05

Test

Conducted task-based usability testing on core features, identifying strengths and areas for improvement in clarity and accessibility.

OUTPUT

The project resulted in a fully designed mobile app that connects older people with families, enabling support with everyday activities such as childcare and pet care. The solution combines a clear structure, flexible interactions and trust mechanisms (profiles, reviews and messaging) to support safe and meaningful connections.

User and caregiver profiles

Each user can create a personal profile, and seniors less confident with technology can rely on a caregiver to manage their account.

Search and filter system

Families can search for available seniors based on specific needs (e.g., evening babysitting, pet care, small household tasks)

Reviews and reliability

Rating and review system to ensure trust and safety among users.

Reminders and schedule management

Integrated calendar with notifications and task tracking.
